Biography

Dr. Richard Burns, BScPT, DDS

Dr. Richard Burns graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Medicine (with Distinction) in 1986. He practiced as a physiotherapist (orthopedics, rheumatology and the heart/lung transplant team at the University of Alberta Hospital) until 1993, at which time he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (with Distinction).

During that time, Dr. Burns was awarded the Arthur D. Cummings Gold Medal and the Louise McKinney Post Secondary Scholarship, among numerous other awards. He has practiced dentistry in the Victoria area since 1993. He is a member of the International Team for Implantology (www.iti.org), the Academy of General Dentistry (www.agd.org), and a past member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He regularly attends the finest continuing education seminars available worldwide, as well as local study clubs, and has completed hands-on training at many prestigious post-graduate teaching institutions.
