First Appointment

“If you don't know your destination,

how do you know if you are lost?

To achieve a predictable treatment outcome we require a thorough initial  examination and complete documentation.  This includes:

  1. comprehensive medical and dental histories

  2. current complete radiographic survey

  3. comprehensive intra- and extra-oral exam  including:

- temporomandibular joint (jaw joint/TMJ)

  examination

- oral cancer screening

- periodontal probing and evaluation of

  supporting structures of the teeth

- occlusal analysis (how your teeth fit together)

- teeth and existing restorations

- intra- and extra-oral digital photographs

- aesthetic analysis

Subsequent records may include diagnostic models/casts of your teeth, occlusal records and a diagnostic “wax-up” of future restorations.

This information is used to provide you with a diagnosis, and treatment alternatives. The final treatment plan is determined through discussion with you. Success in reaching our agreed upon goals is dependent upon our continued collaborative efforts.

Any treatment we feel may best be provided by dental specialists will be done so by referral and under our direction.
