Meet Dr. Andrew Sweet
Dr. Andrew Sweet was born and raised in Prince George B.C. before moving to Edmonton to complete his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Alberta. He went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio where he was the president of his graduating class. Following dental school, Dr. Sweet was honoured with acceptance to post-doctoral specialty programs, but decided that general dentistry was his true passion. He has since continued his dental training at many continuing education courses throughout North America, including the prestigious Kois Center in Seattle, a world leader in advanced dental education.
Dr. Sweet has been practicing in Victoria since graduating in 2010. His philosophy is that well-planned, carefully executed dental care will result in fewer emergency visits, less invasive procedures, and less time and money spent in the dental office. Dr. Sweet aims to educate his patients about the current health of their mouths and, if necessary, aid patients in deciding what proactive treatment can be implemented to reduce the risk of future problems. He strives to treat patients as though they are family by planning long term strategies to maintain healthy, functional, beautiful teeth for a lifetime.
Andrew has always had a passion for swimming and competed at a national level while attending the University of Alberta. He still continues to enjoy swimming with the Victoria Masters Swim Club. Andrew also takes pleasure in yoga, golf and travelling. His love for travel and culture has taken him to over 25 countries including a dental mission trip to Chichicastenango, Guatemala. Andrew has fallen in love with the west coast lifestyle on Vancouver Island and looks forward to serving the community on the Saanich Peninsula for years to come.
