Financing and Insurance

DENTAL INSURANCE:

Insurance or more accurately called Dental Benefits are intended to cover a portion of your dental treatment charges. The amount of coverage depends on the individual contract your employer or union has with the insurance carrier.

Rarely are dental procedures covered at 100% of actual cost, even when the insurance brochures state that they are. This coverage should be considered reimbursement or partial coverage for the fees incurred, and this reimbursement/benefit is dependent on many factors including deductibles and maximum allowable benefits in a given year that your employer and the dental coverage company have contracted to provide.

Our office does not participate in any third party benefit plans or programs and thus does not accept assignment of benefits, since the contract for insurance is a contract between the insurer and the insured (you).

We will, of course, electronically file your claims for you as a courtesy, so that the dental benefit company will process your applicable benefit as quickly as possible. Please bring in your insurance card and insurance information with you on your first visit. This will help us expedite the transmission of information from our office to your dental benefits company.

PAYMENT OPTIONS:

Payment for dental services is due at the time of treatment. Visa, Mastercard, debit cards, cash and cheque are accepted. Payment plans and third-party financing options are also available, please ask us.

Insurance claims are submitted to all dental benefit companies and we do everything possible to ensure patients receive the maximum coverage to which they are entitled directly from their insurance company. Most major treatment will be pre-authorized so an estimate of the insurance company’s contribution will be known before treatment begins.
